Sea to Sky Mountain bike

Trip Description
Sea to Sky Country located between Vancouver and Whistler, where the mountains meet the Pacific Ocean, offers some of the best mountain bike trails in the world. Single trails and forest roads will challenge riders of all levels while experiencing the dramatically beautiful landscape composed of deep coastal inlets, sheer granite walls, lush rain forests, thundering waterfalls, dormant volcanoes and vast icefields and glaciers.

All trips will be guided by three times Eco-Challenge veteran Peter Weiland and his team of experienced local mountain bikers. We are committed to offer you the best mountain bike experience worldwide and to elevate your level of riding to the next level.

On the June trip you have the chance to participate in Canada's epic mountain bike race and festival, the "Test of Metal". During the July trip we will be witnessing the mountain bike world cup in Whistler with its great atmosphere.

Sea to Sky Mountain bike

Day One
The famous ski resort of Whistler, BC turns into a mountain bikers paradise in summer. We will meet in the afternoon at our lodge for an orientation and to fit our bikes

Day Two
The famous "A River Runs Through It" trail is the perfect place to start and get a feel for true Canadian West Coast mountain biking. The trail winds endlessly through an evergreen forest along a peaceful creek, while we are trying to negotiate various technical difficulties on the trail. The x-ing of the infamous log bridge will even get the coolest riders' heart pounding and it is no shame to dismount here. After the ride we are off to a well-deserved refreshing bath in Lost or Rainbow Lakes or for a relaxing soak in the hot tub.

Day Three
This is the day of the vertical challenge. The gondola at Whistler Mountain allows us to descend limitless vertical on the fun, fast or challenging trails of the mountain bike-park. Today you will really improve your downhill skills. After this day of riding you will indeed enjoy the hot tub at our luxurious accommodation and a glorious dinner at the end of the day.

Day Four
We start out early today by climbing up a forest road out of Whistler before we will be hitting what might become your trail of mountain bike dreams. For two miles we will be flying along a perfect fast and winding single trail under the shady canopy of old growth rain forest before it opens up at the shores of picture perfect deep blue Cheakamus Lake. After a break we will carry our bikes through an overgrown trail before we will be rewarded with a great single trail downhill along the Cheakamus River. Afterwards we continue on the legendary Cheakamus Challenge route past the thundering Brandywine Falls and through the impressive Cheakamus Canyon to our riverside lodge.

Day Five
Over the following two days you will find out why Squamish has received an enormous amount of praise in the international mountain bike press for its world class biking trails. Today we will test our downhill skills on Powersmart and Pseudotsuga trails. The more energetic will go for an early start and climb up by bike while we also offer the shuttle version for the more relaxed riders in the group. In the afternoon we have the opportunity to get to cool down while rafting the exciting glacial runoff of the Squamish River.

Day Six
Today's ride on the Test of Metal Trail will treat you to one of the best bike rides on the planet and on our June departure you may even participate in the famous race. Fast fun sections, gnarly climbs, some technical obstacles and blazing downhills combine to this legendary racecourse. Today's ride will be one to remember, and while riding you get to enjoy some of the great scenery between ocean, glaciers, granite walls and the sleeping giant, the volcano of Mt Garibaldi. The Howe Sound Sound Brew Pub will be a fitting place for our celebration.

Day Seven
Along beautiful Howe Sound we will shuttle back to Vancouver where we say our goodbyes!
