Let our local guides lead you on a week of walking, wheeling and whitewater rafting through the most scenic parts of Banff and Yoho National Parks. Evenings spent at historic lodges, in front of a crackling fireplace or in some of the finest Rocky Mountain restaurants promise to top off great days of adventure and discovery. This is the perfect trip for those seeking a new activity every day, which makes it a perfect trip for parents and their adventure thirsting teens!
Rocky Mountain Adventure Sampler Itinerary
Day One: Hiking & Cycling, Banff to Kicking Horse Pass
Meeting this morning in Banff, we'll shuttle to spectacular Moraine Lake. After a short walk and orientation, hop on your bike and coast down to the Continental Divide and into British Columbia. This afternoon we'll continue down the Kicking Horse Pass to our cozy lodge in Field, home for two nights.
Days Two & Three: Hiking in Yoho, Rafting the Kicking Horse River
Lace up your hiking boots this morning - you're in for a treat! A full day of hiking in beautiful Yoho National Park will take us to Takakkaw Falls, the Iceline Trail and Emerald Lake. Day three is a fun-filled day of rafting on the Kicking Horse River, famous for its class 4 & 5 rapids. Tonight we'll stay in beautiful Lake Louise.
Days Four & Five: Cycling the Icefields Parkway, Backcountry Hiking
Start the day with sunrise on the glaciers of Mount Victoria. A van shuttle to Bow Summit will start off the cycling on the famous Icefields Parkway. Descending gradually, we'll view the lakes, glaciers and mountain peaks whose legendary beauty must be seen to be believed. This afternoon, cycle the peaceful Bow Valley Parkway to the summit of Vermilion Pass. The views from our lodge on Storm Mountain are glorious! The next morning, it's a backcountry hiking adventure as we make our way past sparkling clear alpine lakes nestled below steep mountain walls, over Gibbon Pass to Shadow Lake's remote backcountry cabins where we'll spend our last night.
Day Six: Banff
A leisurely hike back out to civilization today on the Red Earth Creek trail brings us to Banff where we say our goodbyes.
